Evelyn Laughs At Star Jones For Making A Petition To End Basketball Wives
Star Jones hasn’t took to kind to Basketball Wives and has formed a petition to end the show. Obviously the petition isn’t going to work considering Basketball Wives was picked up for yet another season! Reality stars Evelyn Lozada, Kandi Burruss, Tamar Braxton, and Chrissy appeared on the latest issue of Vibe Magazine and talked about the petition.
When asked about her feelings towards Jones and her petition, Ev bursted into laughter and said, “I think she’s going to have to get a whole lot of names. Actually, I like the petition and I like the controversy because I’ve learned controversy is good. But I think she’s irrelevant. And she’s using our coattails to get relevant again. Nobody gives a fuck about her.”
Chrissy then said, “Whatever Star Jones is feeling is a little deeper than what she sees. I think she has her own issues.” Kandi added, “She may not be violent, but I’m sure she goes off on people in her day-to-day. I just don’t think it’s fair to block somebody from getting money.”
I do think it’s a little silly of Star Jones to start a petition because regardless of the situation, she won’t win. Like I said, the season has been picked up. Stars petition reads,
“Evelyn Lozada is a bully. The violence on “Basketball Wives” is horrible and disgraceful. Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, and harassment. VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving Evelyn a spin off. Don’t reward negative behavior.” What do you think about Star Jones petition?!

I do agree with the petition if you watch one episode of basketball wives it is a bully fest lead by Evelyns hard up ass. Everything is ride or die on that show yet they want to act like they are real adults and role models. “I don’t give a fuck about star jonse” Wouldn’t expect a sentance to come out of Evelyns mouth not laced with prophanity…

i would sign stat jones petition a thousand times. Pls cancel the show. Evelyn is just ridiculous. Evelyn and tammy really need to be put go. Actually, Evelyn needs to be in jail and tammy,not too far behind her, but perhaps mental institution would be best for tammy. Eveln, tammy, shaunit and suzy should be brough up on criminal charges for what they did to that hotel room(with the fishes). that was juvenile and malicious. they all have kids. I felt sick when shaunie was speaking to her minister about the show. Shaunie, being the head of all this, did not even try and stop tammy when she went off on keisha. that scene alone was just too sickening to relive. ple cancel. and,by-the-way, shaunie, you told the minister you were thinking that perhaps people see her as ghetto. you ain’t never lied!!!…i really hope your future endeavors go the way you all portray yourselves on the show. that goes for evelyn and tammy. suzy needs to go somewhere and stay there, just last season those same 2 girls wanted to fight her. pls, cancel!!

If take away the fighting and some of the arguments the should would OK. People blame editing but its not like they made these people act a damn fool on TV they did that and they mad because it got aired and they getting bashed about. Because why? Half of them are 30+ old with kids and they jumping across stuff to beat other women up. I mean hello that looks bad. I love watching bad girls club because they ain’t old and they ain’t parents they can be super trashy they don’t care. But basketball wives how do they even get deals I would never wanna go into business with these ladies. I used to like Evelyn; but she’s so fucking mean it SAD, & violent. Oh yea and a lil scary she would never go at Tami like she do everybody else. (But were just gonna pretend like she not scary LOL

I applaud Star Jones. She is doing something she believes in. This show is a disgrace to black women everywhere. I don’t think her petition will make any difference, but the show is disgraceful and I won’t watch it either. But that is just my preference.
I think Star Jones has something personal against Evelyn simply because shows like Bad Girls Club & Mob Wives are JUST as bad if not worst. If she wants the negativity off the air she should have petition for all the shows & not just Basketball Wives.
Yes, Melissa needs to practice what she preaches. But, these reality shows are way to vulgar for a 10 year old to watch. My 14 year old can watche MTV, VHI, nor Bravo because of shows like (especially Jersy Shore). They just expose too much violence and unhealthy sextual content. Who wants their kids to see a lady bending over with her cheeks sticking our, or another lady punch someone in their face, or teenagers crawling into bed having sex with someone they just me 2 mins ago????? Can we please discuss the headline on the magazine? “Meet your new role models” I don’t know who Chrissy is so I can’t comment on her. Why are they dressed like that? They look so trashy, you can be sexy without looking like that.
Unfortunately I’m not sure if they are driving the fashion or if the fashion is driving them. I would call complete BS if a lot of grown women didn’t dress and act like them in reality.
I live in KY now but I recently went back to my hometown, a large city on the east coast and just looking at how minority women were dressed I was thinking WTF? Its 5pm why are you dressed this way. I even had a convo with a childhood friend who told me she and her friends were out and two of them came to blows. Again, WTF?? I was like what the sam hill hell is wrong with you all? We are in our early 30s. Most of us are mothers. Why are you fighting anyone? As much as I want to believe these images are not really impacting behaviors, I’m realizing they do. It is being seen as acceptable and that makes me very sad. While I don’t sign petitions I also stopped watching BBW and RHoA and I don’t allow my daughter to watch these shows.
For them to cosign this foolishness is tragic. We (and I mean all women) are so much better than this.

The petition was created to bring awareness to the bullying and violence being displayed on Reality TV shows. It has worked because several sponsors have pulled their advertisements. There is nothing silly about bringing a serious situation to the forefront. It’s not always about winning.
EvIlyn and Star have actually talked w/each other.They even spoke about the comments in the magazine being old news on twitter yesterday.
I wouldn’t mind signing that petition. I can’t stand the constant profanity, the boobs hanging everywhere and the bullying. It’s like the basketball version of the mob wives.. but without the criminal involvement.
