Basketball Wives Renewed For Season 5; Producers Change Some Things Up!
It’s no surprise that Basketball Wives is one of the most talked about reality show on television right now and in their case that’s not a good thing! Many have planned to boycott the show, still Basketball Wives was picked up for another season but producers are willing to change some thing!
Shed Media the producer of the show along with VH1 addressed the recent behavior and denied the fact that the show promotes bullying. However, they confirm they will be changeing the violence policy!

Shed Media US is fully committed to telling the compelling stories of the Basketball Wives in a balanced way. Our producing partner Shaunie O’Neal feels strongly about this, and we fully agree with this stance. We support her as she encourages the cast members to work out issues in a non-violent fashion. We look forward to working with her and the rest of the cast on conveying more balance in the next season.
VH1 Official Statement:
Our viewers’ opinions always matter a great deal to us at VH1. Lately, there has been a lot of conversation about Basketball Wives, a series featuring strong, intelligent women with very passionate viewpoints, which can sometimes escalate. We at VH1 agree with and support Shaunie and the show producers’ “no excessive physical confrontations” policy on the series moving forward. We are all committed to balancing the candid, bold excitement that the viewers have come to love in the series with storylines and representations they can be proud of. Shaunie has been a strong advocate for a more balanced approach to the show and we, along with our producing partners at Shed Media, are all in agreement about moving forward with that goal.

It’s about time. Drama is always good in reality tv but this.show has gone way over the top with the childish behavior and the petty arguments. These women used to be role models and now they are a joke.
Unless they fire Tammy and Eve this show wont change at all. Those birds dont deserve to be on TV. They can take their “circle” back to the proects where it belongs!

Hey girls this is my first time actually taking the time out to blog about a show… I have to admit I was never a reality tv show fan, but as the years progressed it is all that on and now I am hooked! I am a mob wives and RHONJ fan, but about a month ago this basketball wives show kept appearing so I caught a few episodes. All I can say is that its terrible! I saw that last episode with that girl Keisha and it was appalling! Who would try to talk to a woman when there screaming like that you know it won’t end well! I agree bloggers tammy & Evelyn need to be booted otherwise this show will remain as disguisting as it looked last episode!
I catch this show at the gym sometimes, and never realized there are eight of them! I’m always confused why I can’t remember their names or faces, besides the cute Shaunie lady. I guess I wasn’t going senile after all!
I used to look forward to watching BW, but it’s been going downhill ever since Ev was so mad w/ Susie. In my opinion, that’s when the bullying first started and it’s gotten worse. No I won’t be watching if things don’t change. It makes my blood boil to see how one human being can mistreat another so badly.
I think I’d rather sit through Kim Kardashian’s sham wedding than watch another episode of ghetto women acting ignorant.

She is in total damage control! I will never believe a word she ever says. I haven’t watched this season but no matter how hard she tries she isn’t winning any viewers over! It just drives me insane how she and the rest of the cast talk trash and make fun of Tre all damn day long but when she or her Joe are pushed to their breaking points and say something so small only bc they’re pushed in a corner, they all cry wolf and complain to anyone who will (pretend to) listen. It’s all a bunch of bullshit nonsense and seriously it’s disappointing! How can anyone support the Gorgas/Walkiles?! Their intentions of joining the show were pure evil, out of jealousy and hatred for Tre. They acknowledged the family drama started before the show, so why is it Tre’s fault they came on the show to air all this drama?! It’s clearly their fault! And they should be apologizing a million times over to their families and viewers! Oh, and they try to play the innocent card w the viewers? Puh-lease. At least Danielle didn’t act this way. Ok, so she was a wackadoodle BUT she didn’t sell her soul to the devil and pretend to be innocent, all while destroying their own gosh darn family like those horrible people did! I would be ashamed to call them family. Poor Tre! She’s handling things far better than a lot of us would. I know I would have punched a few people in their faces by now! I can’t help but wonder what their definition of “excessive physical violence” is.
That part bothered me too! There shouldn’t be any physical violence; none. But if they said that, they’d probably have to admit they have been wrong these past seasons and would be paying quite a few women in damages.
I don’t for 1 second believe Shaunie has been a strong advocate for less violence……..UNTIL NOW , when theres so much backlash. Up until now she has not only supported the violence but set some of the girls up to be in the direct path of it.

I’ve never had a Twitter Acct until watching BW last night. I was moved to get one to start a campaign to get Tami removed from the show because bullying under any circumstances should be rewarded. After logging in and seeing that the fans unanimously felt the way I do, my blood pressure came down. Shaunie, please stand up for all Womenn but mostly Black Women around the world and eraticate the cancer before it spreads. As a 59 year old mom/grandmom, I want to renew my pride and faith in you because very few of us make it to your level in this industry. When God elevates us, we have a responsibility to HIM to honor his blessing. You didn’t do it when Tami lost total control but you now have a second chance to restore our faith in you as a woman, mother and decent human being. The show’s violence policy is a small step, now take the next step and do what’s right for Tami and the human race. Tami needs time to really get help and heal from years of abuse which won’t happen if she stays on this show. If you really care for her, let her go.

VH-1 made a dumb mistake renewing this piece of TRASH!!!. That’s right. I said TRASH with a capital “T” The black public ain’t stupid. A better idea for VH-1 would have been to cancel this piece of TRASH!!!
If they keep Royce, Kesha and Jen, and get rid of Tammi (and I used to LIKE her! She’s gone off the deep end this season) and Evelyn (pure hoodrat trash), then I may start watching again. It would seem “fake” to me if we saw a “different” (kinder, gentler, more dignified) Tami and Evelyn next season. I mean, can you really change THAT much in just a few months? I don’t think so. They’d only do it so they could keep their paycheck. It just wouldn’t seem real to me. As for Shaunie and Suzie…they are non-factors as far as I’m concerned. Suzie needs to have several seats and then grow up and stop being such a messy gossip once she gets up from those seats. Shaunie needs to stop “talking” about being a certain way (classy, dignified, mature) and start “being” about it by exercising some of her executive producer control and immediately firing anybody who jumps on a table, gets violent and/or verbally, physically and/or emotionally bullies anybody else.

The problem with VH1′s statement is that there was no violence that upset most of the people, it was the absolute humiliation that Tami inflicts or tries to inflict on the other cast mates. A simple disagreement or argument isn’t enough for her. Can you name one single person on that show that she has not been in conflict with at one point or another? That woman needs to go before I would watch again and I wouldn’t even consider watching Evelyn’s new show after seeing the violent actions of her this season, same with Basketball Wives LA. When they come out fighting the first season you know season 2 will be even more violent.
