AllAboutTRH EXCLUSIVE Interview: Scheana Marie & Stassi Schroeder Address Criticism Of Vanderpump Rules & More!
Scheana Marie became popular when it was exposed that she had been dating Eddie Cibrian while he was still married to Brandi Glanville! Now she stars in Lisa Vanderpump’s spin-off Vanderpump Rules along with Stassi Schroeder. I ran into the reality TV servers this week at an event and had to ask them some burning questions about the show. The girls talk about why they think people watch their show, address the criticism that their show is fake and that the staff isn’t really the SUR staff, and hint what’s to come at the reunion and also at a second season!
AllAboutTRH: A lot of people have been comparing Vanderpump Rules to The Hills and I was not a big fan at first but clearly something has me watching every week. Why do you think people like to watch your show?
Stassi Schroeder: I think people like watching other people’s drama. I do! I know when I watch reality shows I like looking at the drama.
Scheana Marie: People are just crazy on the show and I think people like to sit back and watch other people fight and be involved in other people’s lives.
I know you just taped your reunion. How was that and what can we expect to see?
SS: Some fighting, some tears, some yelling and a lot of fun!
Is Laura-Leigh making an appearance on the reunion?
SM: No! It’s just the six of us plus Andy and Lisa.
SS: Fuck no!
Would you two do the show again if asked to do a second season?
SM: Yeah, we can’t wait to do a second season!
SS: Well, we don’t know if it’s picked up but the tabloids are saying it is…so…
I read that your show had higher ratings than The Real Housewives of Miami!
SM: Yeah, I think we are just under 2 million.
How about the two of you? I know we saw you guys become friends after the performance. Are you still friends now?
SM: Yeah! We’ve become very close since that night after my performance.
Do you think it’s because of the show and all the press you’ve had to do together?
SS: I think it would’ve happened anyway just because I really like her. She’s a really cool, fun loving friend. I just didn’t see it right away. I was an asshole. I’m really fortunate that I realized I was wrong about my friend’s mistakes but it’s nice that we get to spend time together because we are doing press and do the show and stuff like that. But I do think we would’ve ended up becoming friends regardless.
How do you feel about people calling you a bully?
SS: Whatever. They need to get a sense of humor.
Any regrets since getting on a reality show?
SM: No. We’re all pretty much an open book. We put everything out there and that’s what we were signing up for. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
SS: I knew what to expect. We know what we’re doing. I know me being an assh*le to her or bullying her, people aren’t going to be like ‘Yeah! You rock!’ so I know what to expect I’m not an idiot.
What is your reaction to some criticism that you guys are just paid actors and that the show is fake?
SS: We do! Come and see us. We’re there every day. You better tip me well!
SM: Half of the people on the show aren’t even actors. Only Tom and Kristen are into acting. I also work at Villa Blanca so you can see me there as well more than at SUR.
Is the group as a whole still friends? Has any of that dynamic changed since the show has aired?
SS: We’re all friends it’s just very strained and “up and down” a lot of the time.
SM: It’s not as consistent as we are now (Scheana and Stassi), interestingly.
I know you two plus Jax have become the main characters on the show. Is there any jealousy going on with your other cast mates?
SM: I mean, I think that there was more of a focus on us because I came over from Housewives and then Stassi and Jax kind of stole the show because they had one of the best story lines, but it’s what people want to see. Jealousy, I don’t know if I would use that word.
SS: Just feeling left out.
SM: We’re used to being the center of attention so we don’t know what it feels like! (laughs)
You were introduced through your talk with Brandi. How do you feel about her new book coming out? Do you know if you’re in it?
SM: I don’t read books. I’m not going to read it, I’m not going to buy it, no offense. But I say go for it, more power to her. If she can make money doing it then I’m happy for her.
SS: I’m looking forward to reading it and I will let [Scheana] know if she’s in it.
SM: I heard there was a whole chapter about me but it doesn’t use my name. So I don’t know. That’s the only reason I would read it.
SS: I’ll read it to her as a bed time story! We can cuddle.
Is there anything else you’d like to tell the viewers?
SM: Buy my song on iTunes. It’s called “What I Like”. I’m going to start performing a little more now that the show has aired and I can put it out there a little more. I’m getting back into hosting entertainment news shows and acting is on hold for now.

I cannot stand Stassi. She is the epitome of self-absorbed princess that thinks everyone should kiss her ass. Plus, she’s just a straight up bitch. I was hoping she was the one Lisa was going to fire in that one episode. I was so disappointed when it was Frank.
Does anyone else remember Scheana from the Pizza Girl episode of Jonas? Or am I the only one here from the Disney Channel generation, lol?

Yup. When Brandi outed her as one of the women Eddie had an affair with, I immediately recognized her from the show.

I agree. This belongs on MTV. I thought this show was going to be about Lisa running a business and show off her responsibilities as a business owner. I wasn’t expecting a show about youth friendships, love relationships, drinking, violence and sex on a bathroom floor. This show is everything I least expected. Lisa Approved This Trash? This does Nothing Good For Sur. Not to mention what a dump Sur is. I can’t believe a dump like that exists in Beverly Hills. It’s Horrible. If anything, Lisa’s restaurant should appear on Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares. Also needs a visit from Tabitha, “Hand Me The Keys, I’m Taking Over This Dump!”

Ya think ? I think the show is boring and i really don’t get what audience this show is geared for … The best parts are when Lisa makes a appearance and that is not often enough for me
The ratings via Nielsen had total viewers Monday night at 1.5 million viewers, not 2 million as the girls say in the story. But since total viewers for RHBH averages 1.8 million viewers ( half of Atlanta and dropping this season each week from last season – probably due to the repetitive same story every week of Brandi vs. Adrienne-clueless Bravo) that is actually really good to only lose 15% of the viewers.
I find it odd that these two are now friends.

SS is smart, but shallow. She’s on here for attention, of whatever kind. Lesson: Limit your escapes to reality TV!
ITA Kpasta! Not that it surprised me that Scheana doesn’t read books, but still it’s like she proud that she is a dumbass. I’ve watched about 10 minutes all together of this show when I had forgotten to turn the channel and started cleaning or something. Even in the background it is annoying. I seriously thought a commercial for vodka was on the other day while I was washing dishes and when I went to change the channel it was VPR. LOL. Maybe I’m just too old to watch this show? I don’t know if I’m in their target group I’m mid 20′s but it seems like it is targeted for teenagers.
I agree with you. I’m 31, and still watch a few shows on MTV. Even with that being said, I have no tolerance for this show. I’ve only watched it because my DVR in my downstairs den is programmed to record RHOBH so it automatically changes the channel to Bravo. I lost my remote control for that tv, so often times I just leave it on that channel (because I’m too lazy to go upstairs and get one of the other remotes) lol. I was expecting much more Lisa in this show. Oh well.
LOL about the remote! Same here. I jus bough a new one and one day after programming it it is gone…I wanted to see more Lisa also but when I did see her I wishes I wouldn’t have because it kind of ruined her image for me. Why would she agree to this show???

I wondered the same thing. Before I became a nurse I worked in restaraunts. For saying this is an upper class restaraunt I strongly have to disagree. I haven’t ever worked in a place that would allow Stassi’s job performance alone allow her to stay. She should have been fired a long time ago. This makes Lisa look like a poor manager. It does not speak highly of her at all to have this girl continue to stay just because she is her daughters friend.

I thought the exact same thing! Like even if you don’t have the time to do a lot of reading, or any at all, you never say that! Does she know what she sounds like? Reminds me of the opposite….when snooty people say “I don’t watch TV.” I heard a comedian rant about this. they said they always come back with “No TV? What do you do instead? Are you in your garage trying to find a cure for cancer?”
I think this show needs to be on MTV. It’s just not for me. And these girls are self centered entitled brats. I just can’t waste any time watching such nonsense.

First of all, this show is so scripted, that it’s hard to watch. These guys are so over the top and dramatic, I don’t believe in any of what they are doing.
Second of all, if Lisa is so offended by her staff going to a different city and do some silly stuff in another restaurant bc they are making a statemeny about her bussiness, how come she is even allowing them to stay and still work there?! More important, how come she feels ok with them having sex in her place of bussiness and let them all act the way they are?! This is jist ridicilous, nobody in their right mind would let their employees behave this way.
I wonder how Lisa’s bussiness partner feel about this whole editing.
True if two employees have sex in the restaurants bathroom they should have both been fired .. In the real world they would have been .. Lisa loses some creds for not firing both SMH

i like the show. don’t know what everyone is complaining it. it has fights, arguements, backstabbing, lying, cheating. everything a soap opera has. it’s good entertainment.

Sur Is A Real Dump! Sex In The Bathroom, And Sperm Infested Hands Wiping Out The Wine Glasses!———
I was bored and watched Lisa’s 90210 (as Closet Freak calls it lol) Vanderpump Rules show and I have to say, this show does nothing positive for her half of the restaurant. I say her half because frankly, I feel sorry for the partner who owns the other 49 percent. I couldn’t help but notice what a dump it was. It Is A Dump! The floors are torn up, the paint is chipped, the wood trimmings are torn to shreds and the back door, wow! There is a block of wood across the back of the door as if someone had put their foot through it and they covered the hole with a block of wood. Who would eat there? I would never think a dump like that would exist in Beverly Hills. Oh, I forgot to mention the tables. AWFUL! It’s no wonder why they have linen covers over them. They are covering up the tacky tables. What A Dump. One More Thing… I wouldn’t want to drink from those wine goblets the waitresses are sticking their dirty hands into with a cloth to wipe them clean. How Disgusting! They are having SEX ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR and they go back out to wipe their sperm infested hands on the wine goblets. SUR IS A DUMP!
The real reality is this, the restaurant is real and it really exists in Beverly Hills. I wouldn’t eat a free meal there. It’s dirty. It’s all around dirty. Now we know why Lisa and Ken owned a lot of restaurants. They open them, they fail, they sell. Lisa and Ken must be living off an inheritance because there is no way, No Way they earned millions for the dumps they run. No Way!
I have to say the hygiene for a restaurant shown on the show is scary. Last episode Stassi was eating a meal in front of the customers on duty, wiped her mouth with her hands, patted down her hair with her hands and went straight to serving food. Ewww- scary that I have never seen anyone wash their hands on the show while working at the bar, setting out glasses or silverware or serving.

Yes REALLY! I think she has beautiful eyes. Way prettier than most. If she’s trying to open them as wide as possible maybe it’s a habit IDK but I didn’t notice it. I read makeup and eyeshadow blogs alot and she has the kind of eye makeup that I love —-dramatic and well done but not overly so. Some people don’t like alot of that and I guess u are one of them but don’t hate her eyes just because she has beautiful ones that really pop LOL
Oh and as for her eyelids–she just has deep set eyes. That’s why u don’t see her lids unless she’s looking down. Lots of people have deep set eyes like that.
I agree with you! She’s beautiful! I love the show! It is funny, silly, stupid, infuriating all at once. But clever to. I feel for lisa when she has to act like a mother to them but I’ve worked in restaurants a while ago and this is how staff acts. Its really just a big family. The sleeping with each other is nuts however. But, if they were hired as couples then that’s what you get. I agree that stassi can be a total bitch but how many of you out there can say you were perfect at her age. They are still somewhat kids so that’s how they act. From what I’ve seen, only Max and peter have some age on them the rest are very young, Still cooking! Lisa is the mom and ken is the dad and obviously it works for them and they are making a great living. JMO
In Scheanas defense,she’s not a dumbass, because she ‘doesn’t read books’ I know that she skipped the 3rd grade graduated with top honors from a private high school and went on to get her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism by the age of 20 from Azusa Pacific University again with top honors…So there!!!
In the “real world” Stassi would not still be working at SUR, i find it surprising that Lisa puts up with all there crap as a business owner,Stassi is a prima donna with a complex. having said all that i like the show.
