A Question For My Readers..

March 27, 2012 | By | 82 Replies Continue Reading

As I’ve already mentioned this, AllAboutTRH is getting a new look! AllAboutTRH is getting customized and will be changing a few things but don’t worry. The site will be just as organized, clean and user friendly! I think it’s most important to get suggestions from my readers! You are the reason the site is doing so well and if there is anything you want me to add I would love for you to tell me. Feel free to comment and give me your opinion on what you want added on the site. Again, I want to thank you all for the continued support. The site is doing unbelievable and it’s all thanks to you. xo

I don’t know if it’s in your plans, but it would be nice if the new site allows us to register our screen names so we can edit our comments.

  2. louloubell says:

Thank God I discovered your site! Love all the HW’s gossip. Keep it up girl!

  3. Terry says:

How about a “like” button? Ooohh and a picture of the ladies faces so we can throw a dart at the ones we dont like?! kidding…well sort of LOL Keep up the good work ;)

  4. Samantha says:

I just wanted to say your site is my guilty pleasure. My husband is always yelling at me to get off the computer but I’m stuck on your site. Haha. Glad to hear your changing things up and that your site is getting bigger. I am always on the computer at work and have noticed you being sited on huge websites. Congratulations. As long as the site is user friendly I don’t have anything that I want added. You go girl

  5. nyc girl says:

Comments should be posted by most recent on top. Scrolling to read comments each time becomes a nuisance. Thanx!

  6. staceychris says:

Keep up the good work!! I too would like a “Like” button. Don’t know if that’s do-able but would be nice :)

  7. sickofmelissa says:

Maybe it’s just me, but I like the site now. Please don’t put alot of junk on it because it becomes difficult to load. WetPaint is an example of what not to do. Juzzit a little, but not endless polls, ads, and pictures. Thanks Rox.

  8. lily says:

    Roxanne,
I like your energy and attempts to present the info objectively. If you plan to take this project to the next level, you need to ensure a professional delivery from all standpoints, including spelling accuracy. Believe it or not, proper spelling will affect the credibility of a written message.
    Other than that… godspeed!

    • Kelly says:

I absolutely agree. I love the site and can’t begin to imagine the amount of work that goes into constantly providing us with fresh stories. That being said, correct spelling and proper grammar would be most appreciated and help take you to the next level. Good luck!

  9. Nonna Gabi says:

I love it the way it is!

  10. Jelly says:

I love it the way it is, I don’t like how it is on other websites where you have to register to comment or have a facebook (I do not have one!) I like that I can just post a comment like this, and let that be that. I think it’s pretty user friendly now! But I am interested to see what you have planned :)

    • Sharon Lea says:

I don’t have a Facebook account right now either.

      • Helen Wheels says:

I don’t “Facebook” either and I don’t plan to. I figure everybody that I want in my life is already there. No use looking for trouble as it seems to find you easily enough all on its own.

Also, this twat don’t twitter. (I have been dying to say that for the longest and I finally got the opportunity. Man, that felt good!)

      • Margie says:

I don’t have Facebook either. I like reading everyone’s comments.

  11. NYGirl says:

I would love Miserable Lauren Monday. (You do a video montage of her mopey face from the last 3 seasons.) Tranny Tuesday. (All day, all night…pics and tweets from our favorite mannish hags.) Wacko Wednesday. (Jac’s greatest hits of drunk tweets.) Trump the Stump Thursday (you put up a question of the day for Joe Marco…something like “How many chin hairs does Bozo have?” or “If Wacko Jacko buys 10 bottles of wine, drinks 3 on the way home and drops 4 walking to her front door, how long will it take her to blame Teresa on Twitter?”. And “Freaky Melissa” Friday. (Every week you interview one of her ex clients. I’m sure there’ll be tales of farm animals, midgets and whipped cream.) Woohoo!!!

    • Helen Wheels says:

Now that’s funny, NYGirl! Thanks for the laugh.

I would go with the edit/delete button, Rox. That way windbags like me don’t have to put up another post to explain the mistakes made in the first. Or, those with second thoughts don’t have to live with a post they wish a minute later they hadn’t written. It does happen.

Maybe some emoticons as well just to convey the particular tone of a comment.

Otherwise things are just jake around here as far as I’m concerned! (See. This is where I would have included an emoticon).

      • Lovingmom111 says:

NYGirl, you are cracking me up!!! I needed that laught this afternoon, thanks ;)
Roxy, I think it would be great to post the most recent comment on top, it would make it more practical to read instead of having to scroll all the way down. Other then that I truly enjoy your site!
( By the way I’ve never posted on any other website before! I never felt like it was worth my time, people were just so mean to each other & too much junk all the way around but this site is so different it has an organic feel to it & that’s what i like about it! )

      • Isabella Patricia says:

I second that! The delete button would be nice because sometimes when I’m in a rush to type or swype on my phone, I get typos.

    • Kate (NOT the ignorant Tre-hating "kate") says:

NYGirl, loved the math problem the best, literally made me laugh and almost choke on my water. good one.

      • pinkie says:

NY Girl,,, I have to thank you for todays first laugh. this is a gem blog.

Rox, I love this site,,, who ever mentioned the organic feel hit the nail on the head. i love it… i love that Tre supporters are not shot down. I read all the housewives blogs before you started yours. Now this site exclusively. LOVE LOVE it

    • R says:

Meho lives with a farm animal a sweaty farm animal lol

    • JD says:

      NYGirl…you are a trip….LOL…

  12. Renegade says:

Id say add more color & add a basketball, mob, housewive feel to it

  13. julie says:

I love it as is, however, I would love a “like” button for comments.

  14. Rasha says:

maybe if you had a section where the housewives themselves can interact with us the viewers/readers …. you can have it where for instance during the airing of RHONJ , every a week you choose a housewife that has to answer questions that we sent to you earlier, and the question could be related to that weeks episode

  15. Anna Ak says:

If you need help with your website contact us at in2k.com would love to help you (no charge)!

  16. Razzle-dazzle says:

I would love more insider exclusive stories! I know they’re hard to come across sometimes but I absolutely love it when you have insider info! You’re doing a fantastic job by the way.

  17. realgirlfriend says:

On your next site can we dedicate a page to debunking Stoopid Housewives and all her crazy followers!!! She stole 2 of my email addresses to not allow me to comment on her bs site. I would even be rude. I may have mentioned this or another site and she goes off then takes down the comment. After a while I got snarky and started to investigate her, and got blocked!!!??

    • Mila says:

I haven’t been on that website since rox opened hers. I hated it but wanted to be updated on housewives. Someone tweeted that sh is closing down prob bc rox site took all of her readers lol

      • Annah says:

No, she still has plenty of readers, she is BORED with the HW. I can’t blame her. If someone has a personal problem or situation with her, I can’t speak of that, but as far as the info on her site and the way she runs her site, I think it is pretty fantastic.

Sorry Rox, I wouldn’t normally discuss a blogger on another bloggers site, but I had to give my two cents on this topic since it was brought up.

    • Helen Wheels says:

For realz, “realgirlfriend!” I too had the exact same experience with SH. And I never got nasty in the slightest. My sin was that I dared to challenge a certain point regarding the SH blind hatred of all things Giudice. The site’s so-called “stories” would contain unbelievably hateful, ugly comments about the children. As you can see though, Karma’s a bitch and she came for another. The SH site is history. Such spiteful hate (which to me is what SH really stands for and is why the site is over) on a daily basis just isn’t sustainable. A little snark and pissiness is all well and good now and then. I’d even say it’s good for the spirit – it’s like taking out the garbage. However, when snark becomes petty bitchery and pissiness just outright nastiness every day, all day, people don’t want to hang out with you, so-to-speak. That trick’s welcome just wore out. It was bound to happen.

  18. TRACKER says:

I also love your site, found it thru twitter quite some time ago..also stoopid housewives is shutting down? but lately the remarks by SH. have been on the rude side,as for me i still love all the housewives shows and no,i don’t think they are real, but they are entertaining, great job you are doing..thanks

  19. Stacey says:

I would like a “like” button too.

  20. Kate (NOT the ignorant Tre-hating "kate") says:

I like the idea of newest comments being up top and a “like” button for comments, but I kind of think, to be fair, you’d need a “dislike” button for comments too if you have a “like” button. Otherwise, I agree with others’ sentiments that this site is very uncensored, user friendly, uncluttered, and feels organic; keep all of that.

  21. Annah says:

I don’t care for the newest comment on top because to read ALL the posts you have to go to the bottom and you’re passing interesting comments that you have to stop and look at. I would like to see a reply button that includes the post you’re replying to while all of the comments are in order by date and time. I hate having to look at ALL the post every time to see if there was a witty reply to another post someone made. When all replies are separate messages instead of embedded it is easier to look at, similar to the bravo message board. Other than that, nothing. I like the site. It isn’t cluttered and is user friendly.

  22. socalsoccer says:

Spell check would be great; I think some people were not so good at spelling in elementary school!

  23. Lisa says:

Rox you are so talented, beautiful , and hard working whatever you do will be a huge success. The date order for comments is a good idea, confidential contacts for you for leads is good. I think when you have time you should take on fan favs like shameless, dwts, celebrity apprentice, wherever your passion leads you. We all love you, support you, and sometimes want to protect you too much. Congratulations on the huge success of your site.

  24. Sometimes the comments get out of hand and i think you should watch over some of the comments and erase some.Like right now i only can think of one but it was the story about jac and her drinking,it was wild and 1 thing pissed me off was the gay bashing.I am not gay but i knew 2 people on the site was and said so.So i think thats a fair request.Someway you could erase it and the basher won’t come back.Oh theres 2 requests n.y. girls idea for sure.

  25. NO KARDASHION NEWS PLEASE!!!!

  26. maribelbrown says:

A picture of you, duh!! xxoo

  27. I love your site. I like when you say (video) in the title, so I know if there’s a video or not. More generally, I like how your titles are very direct, so I know what the content of the post is going to be.

I have to disagree with a pp and say I like how the oldest comments are at the top, I think it makes the most sense, and that’s how most other blogs do it.

In terms of the layout/colors, I think something a little more “Real Housewives-y” would be good. But this is a minor thing. Ultimately, you should do whatever speaks to you the most, because it is your blog and you maintaining your passion for it is what will make it fun and interesting for people to read (:

  28. I liked the idea that someone posted about logged-in users being able to edit your own comments.
Also, Rox- what about ads? You could pick up some change, and if you’re not interested for yourself-you could donate the income to charity.
I am trying to get a network to share ad-revenue together if you are interested.
Right now you kind of have a monochrome color thing. It would be very easy to have ads that blend-in so they don’t ruin your theme.

  29. Srt_3 says:

I think your site is great…..having read through many comments people leave, my only thought would be for people to remain respectful to one another, even if there is a differing of opinion. I have seen name calling, once being to me, even when I said nothing negative. I think the name calling amongst us posters takes away from your site.

    • hannavas says:

I agree with this. Insulting people on the show is one thing but insulting fellow posters is totally uncool and should not be allowed. It boggles my mind that a website would even need to consider such a rule; reasonable adults should be able to disagree without becoming disagreeable. But if people have to deal with insults for posting their opinion, they will be less likely to do so and it will ultimately harm the site. You’ve done an incredible job; I’ve been here every day since day one!

    • madamedummy says:

      i agree …great comment

  30. housewifefan says:

How about a like or dislike option for comments. (thumbs up or down) below every comment posted.

  31. OFF TOPIC:What do think of the Iran show? It’s good the gay realitor is great!!

  32. Fern says:

Please don’t fall into trap other bloggers do, they don’t check their facts, they have their own “favorite” cliques, they capture IPs of commentors and “out” them & others that are using same WiFi (privacy invasion!), they censor people who comment the truth (not libel) …even if they disagree. People need to read both sides, to know which side they are on. I am NOT saying YOU do this, I have never seen it anyway – other bloggers do it. Is there a “terms of service” that bloggers should post for their sites? The 1st Amendment is a good thing (even if we disagree with others views; @ least we learn things, right?)

  33. vintagehippie says:

How about adding a chatroom so everyone gets to vent while watching the show.

  34. madamedummy says:

    IMHO ..
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it !
the site is fabulous just the way it is ….

  35. IamNobodysHW says:

I visit this site everyday. Don’t change it too much, I like it the way it is.

  36. She's a joke says:

Here are my suggestions: a twitter update of your latest tweets, a recent comment posting section ( so everyone can see when new comments were posted, especially if they are in reply to someone,) and links for each franchise showing recent articles (not just for each person.)

  37. shantelB says:

YES i def think that a “like” button will be very useful and The whole editing thing is a great thing to add! ALSO FOR THE NEWER COMMENTS TO BE ON TOP IT IS VERY ANNOYING SCROLLING TO THE BOTTOM! ALSO TO have a live chat with other users that would be awesome! you rock ROX haha

  38. Kija says:

    Suggestions:

    1) Left justify and use shorter paragraphs to break up the text. I have mentioned this before because I have EBMD (an annoying eye disease that won’t kill me) and frankly, sometimes your articles are hard for me to read because they don’t track well when centered.
    2) An open house party during the show where you and readers comment while the show is being aired. Of course, being on the West Coast – dang it – I will have to read it later, but the real time reactions can be so interesting.
    3) Occasional polls might be fun, but I would not add tons of widgets and whatever you do, don’t add autoplay music – my pet peeve.
    4) I am indifferent as to whether the posts are top to bottom or bottom to top, it’s a simple key stroke to get to the bottom.

  39. LisaLisa says:

Hi, Roxy! How about a caption-of-the-day contest? Funny but clean, ya know?

I apologize if this was already mentioned — but I didn’t have time to read all the wonderful comments; just taking a momentary break from a project.

  40. cammierari says:

LOVE the site, and have been here from the beginning. I love that it’s centered (sorry Kija) and that each reply is underneath what you were replying to. I love that you don’t have to register, and I love not having an avatar. There is already a date and time stamp on every post, so it’s really not hard to see if there is a new comment. LOVE the homepage where there is only a short blurb with a link to ‘read more’ AND a link to just the comments. Love the comment counter, so I can see if there are new posts. Love that I don’t have to scroll thru a lot on the home page to get to the story I want to read, or the comments-hate to mention another site, but Lynn’s site is very difficult to navigate in that way-you have to scroll thru sometimes 4 blog posts to get to the comment link-very annoying if you’ve already read the blog. LOVE that you don’t restrict the length of comments-if I don’t want to read a long post, I can scroll on thru to the next.

Maybe having an edit button would be helpful, but truthfully, I think when I read typos, I know what was meant. A like button would be awesome tho-sometimes people hit the nail right on the head and it’s always nice to be able to tell them that.

Just want to say that this is, without a doubt, the BEST blog out there. Very few poster fights, very few rude commenters or cliques, and very user friendly. THANK YOU Roxie for your hard work and dedication-I truly appreciate it. I am home, taking care of my senile mother and this blog has saved me from many a long, dreary day

    • Kija says:

The issue of alignment is actually one of the more important ones and an impediment to her web site for several reasons. This is not just my opinion. Google readability and left center alignment and you will see that there is not one single expert in web design who supports centering. Most of them call it a beginner’s mistake, and Rox was a beginner, but now she’s ready to re-design and should have a website that projects her authoritative expertise on all things housewife.

Here is authoritative information on why it is valuable to left-align: http://www.learntodoitright.com/2009/01/14/how-text-alignment-affects-online-readability/

  41. Amanda says:

I like it just the way it is! I think it looks clean and is very easy to read. Another site recently changed over and I do not like the new look. Please consider keeping the same colors and streamlined format

Thank you! Keep up the good work!

  42. mike says:

It would be great if you could expand beyond the housewives and take on other reality shows and talk shows (like the the shows that ‘The Soup’ covers), and give some competition to RT. But you’ll need guest posters to keep up, which I’m sure you could easily find. TRH would have to stand for something else. Today’s Reality Headlines, maybe, etc. Maybe you could get an editor to check the blogs for spelling and grammar before publishing.

  43. yawn says:

Just another vote for changing the font between excerpts from something you are pasting and your actual commentary. Make it easier to keep up. And don’t change in bad ways. There’s another housewives blogger that has a huge ego. She, for whatever reason, cares enough about whether she was the first person to post something that she will be nasty to her commenters if they mention reading something elsewhere. And she’ll also be nasty if you mention something she has already covered. She seems to think that people have plenty of time to sift through archives of her site before posting a comment. Moral of the story–don’t be an egotistical meanie.
