Class with the Countess!
It’s official that The Real Housewives of New York are back and better than ever! Countess Luann De Lesseps opened up a ton when she recently went on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She discussed everything from her night in jail, her ex-husband Tom D’Agostino, and even her Diana Ross Halloween costume.
It was inevitable that Luann’s night in the slammer would get brought up. She said, “Uhh God, I’m going to tell you this right now and everyone here, remember three phone numbers from your phone. Because if you ever go to jail, you have to remember phone numbers. And I couldn’t remember phone numbers, and the one I did remember I didn’t want to call it.” Luann admitted that it was Tom’s number she remembered! Apparently her ex-husband was in Europe and it was 3 A.M. so she wasn’t going to call him. Plus her children were in Europe as well. She was pretty stranded and had to wait it out. She called her publicist Pete and didn’t get an answer right away. Luann was in jail by 10 P.M. at night and didn’t get out until noon the next day. At least they put her by herself, so she didn’t have to be around people in there. As Sonja Morgan calls them, “prison b****es.” As far as going to the bathroom, she had a little privacy because the toilet was behind a half wall.
Currently, she is not dating right now. Lu found a nice apartment in the city that she likes, in addition to her house that she has in Sag Harbor. She said, “I got a penthouse all by myself.” The last time she saw Tom it was “cordial” and it was only once since their marriage dissolved. “It was hello and that was it,” Luann revealed. Does she still go to the Regency Hotel? Absolutely not. She also still talks to her ex, Jacques, and it turns out he has a girlfriend. Luann said they are good friends, and that Jacques is like family to her.
According to the WWHL poll, most people felt that Luann owes the women an apology. As Carole Radziwill said on the show, they felt that Luann should say sorry for calling them “jealous b****es for the last two years.” In fact the results showed that 70% said yes she should apology to the ladies, whereas; only 30% felt she didn’t need to apologize. Luann said that the results were “interesting.” As Luann said, “I feel like I suffered enough.”
Would she ever get married again? “You never say never.”
