“There was some stuff swirling around me, but I was ducking and diving,” Lisa teases. “I didn’t get myself into too much trouble.”
Lisa admits she does get caught up in the “tumultuous” drama during season 8 but promises she’s not the cause of it.
“Normally I have my cool, and I kind of lost it that day,” LVP explains to Entertainment Tonight. “I think on Beverly Hills, you see this wonderful, glittering existence, and you also see the struggle that the women go through.”
Even Lisa’s BFF Kyle Richards was shocked at Lisa’s vulnerability this season.
“I was like, ‘OK, Alexis Carrington, got it.,’” Kyle recalls of the moment. “It was so out of character for her to let her guard down like that, that’s why my mouth was literally hanging open.”
However, Lisa makes it clear that this season is nowhere near as bad as her worst seasons, four and six.
“It’s normally the even numbers that aren’t good to me!” Lisa jokes. “Eight was actually OK, so I’ve broken the mold.”
As for season 8, Lisa says the dynamics shift this season, including her friendship with Kyle. While Kyle and Lisa’s friendship takes a turn mid-season, the bump in the road doesn’t cause irreparable damage.
“You know, we have a great relationship, but like any relationship, it has its problems,” she shares. “Like any marriage, or you know, partnership in life or business, you have your struggles, but then you come through it. I think what we have supersedes, you know, the negativity.”
Kyle agrees, chiming in,“I love Lisa. I mean, Lisa and I, obviously, we’re very close. We’re the closest of the bunch, and I could never do the show without her. You know, we keep it fun.”
Speaking of fun, Lisa wraps things up by joking that Kyle’s much more obsessed with her than she is of Kyle.
“Not at all!” LVP laughs. “As soon as she’s out of there, I’m gonna be front and center with a diamond.”
“I do think in some ways, we’re very much the backbone of the show,” she continues. “We’re the two existing [original cast members], and our friendship was always so strong, and it was so authentic. Even now, I call her up, and I’m laughing, and she’s like, ‘What are you laughing about?’ and then we get to talking about something else.”
I love Lisa and Kyle’s friendship, but I’m super curious to see what goes down between these two this season!
