LuAnn told People that her wedding day was, “one of the best days of my life!”
The three-day wedding weekend started with a rehearsal dinner Friday night on the Mariner III yacht. It left the Palm Beach marina for a three-hour sunset cruise and dinner, where guests enjoyed a seafood feast!
“We decided to have our rehearsal dinner on a yacht because Tom is a big boater. He grew up boating. We both own boats, we’re both into boating, so we thought, what a great place to do our rehearsal dinner,” LuAnn revealed.
The party didn’t stop there; guests partied until 1A.M. at the Chesterfield Hotel’s Leopard Lounge. LuAnn and Tom hosted a “lounge-style soiree,” complete with cigarette girls serving champagne and hors d’oeuvres!
LuAnn’s brother walked her down the aisle on Saturday, as 250 guests watched in awe! LuAnn’s adult children, Noel and Victoria served as the ring bearer and flower girl respectfully. I have never heard of an adult flower girl, and I’m a bit confused as to why Victoria wasn’t the maid of honor!
Tom included LuAnn’s children in the ceremony, and gave them each a token of his love. He presented Victoria with a Tiffany key, to show that she has the key to both of their hearts, and Noel with a compass, signaling that he could always find his way back to them! The bride and groom also gave each of their mothers a rose to “symbolize their love.”
The romantic reception was complete with chandeliers, fairy lights, and pale pink peonies. Their first dance was a bit rehearsed, and their wedding song was “Just Like Heaven.”
As midnight neared LuAnn gave a speech, and belted out Happy Birthday to her new husband Tom; did we really think she wouldn’t sing something? A Marilyn Monroe look-alike jumped out of Tom’s huge birthday cake, and it’s clear there was no shortage of entertainment at this wedding!
“If Marilyn Monroe was still alive, I would ask Marilyn Monroe to come. … I picked Marilyn because she’s iconic. Who can sing ‘Happy Birthday’ better than Marilyn, right,” LuAnn insisted!
Adding, “It was one of the best days of my life. To celebrate our wedding, New Year’s Eve and Tom’s birthday with all my friends and family in one night was just magical. It was a dream,” she boasted.
Tom took a moment to reflect on the special day, and gave most of the credit to LuAnn for planning such an amazing celebration! “Luann put her heart and soul into the weekend and it really shows. She made all of her family and friends feel so welcome. I’ve never been happier, I couldn’t wishing for a better 50th birthday present than marrying Luann,” he beamed.
We already told you that LuAnn and Tom did not want gifts, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have gifts for their guests! The bags themselves were. “complete with their logo — at the beginning of the weekend, which included a Pashmina, Popchips, a wedding survival kit (it included Tylenol, Spruce 0132 chocolates, a candle and The Scout Guide, Palm Beach) and Harmless Harvest Coconut Water!”
On Sunday the couple hosts a brunch at the Colony Hotel, and their guests “applauded” the couple when they walked in. “It’s a classic, great love story,” LuAnn wrapped!
