Ashlee Holmes and her family may be celebrating the announcement of her upcoming bundle of joy, but it seems that not everyone is happy for the mom-to-be. After announcing her pregnancy on Instagram over the weekend, Ashlee was hit with a ton of hate from fans who called out the RHONJ star for getting knocked up before tying the knot.
At first, Ashlee simply shot back at critics on her pregnancy announcement photo saying, “Oh I’m sorry… should quit my job and get back in the kitchen and make my man a sandwich after he beats me? Or is that too “old school” for your taste?? Just let me know where your line is so I can be sure not to cross it for you.”
Then in a rant the size of Texas Ashlee made it clear she could care less what her critics and “keyboard warriors” had to say; blasting them in a post on Instagram.
In an Instagram post, Ashlee shared a photo with the quote “People are going to judge you whether you do what you want or do what they want. Live for yourself.”
Ashlee captioned the photo with a list of couples who had babies before walking down the aisle.
Then in hopes of silencing her critics, Ashlee shared this message, “couples who had a baby before making it to the alter(and this list goes on and on). I am POSITIVE that none of their children are ANY LESS loved or taken care of because their parents didn’t have a marriage certificate first. Life happens. Get off my back. It’s 2016. We are not ashamed of my pregnancy AT ALL. @c3peteo and I are already so in love and cannot wait to meet him/her. Everything happens for a reason, and I’m confident that this is the way things are supposed to be. If you have a problem with this AMAZING blessing… you can unfollow me. I promise not to miss you and your negative energy.? ps. You aren’t invited to the wedding.”
Surprisingly or maybe not so surprisingly, Kathy Wakile jumped into the fight and lent support to Ashlee saying, “We are so happy for you & Pete! The Blessings coming your way are well deserved! Don’t let ANYONE steal your JOY!”
I don’t get why people are so up in arms about Ashlee being pregnant. She’s a 20-something woman who got knocked up; she’s in a relationship, and hopefully, is getting married. It’s not like she’s the 17-year-old kid we met during season 1 of RHONJ.
