Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey has been apparently dealing with a medical situation and is finally opening up about it. Although she is not exactly saying what it is, Cynthia says that she is going to share what’s going on with her on this season of RHOA.

She tells Radar,

“I can say a whole lot about it. But I am dealing with a medical situation. I will be having a surgery and rectifying the situation. That will play out on the show. As part of the journey I am going through with that, I decided I did wanted to share it with the world because I felt like there is a lot of education in this process that I am going to be going through. I decided to take you guys on this journey with me because I really didn’t know a lot about it. And then once you find out something, people aren’t always diligent about getting to the doctor and really figuring out what I need to do or just being overall healthy people in general. It has really just changed my life and how I look at my health. I’m in my forties. I really have to take care of myself. I have to make sure I make those yearly visits to the doctor and just get checked out. I’m so busy that time just goes and I’m like, ‘Oh my god. I haven’t gone.’ But it’s super important.”

Cynthia adds,

“The more information I got about it once I did go to the doctor and really saw the rewards, how good I was going to feel from dealing with it, and how many women actually deal with this condition, I felt it just would be powerful to relay that information out there. Over three or four million people watch our show. And even they love the drama, but I think it’s great when they can actually get some education out of it as well. And this is just one of those situations where whether they want to learn about it or not, they’re going to learn something when they watch me go through this process.”

Good for Cynthia. Prayers that all goes well. Do you think it’s a good idea that she opens up about something so personal?

  • I hope Cynthia is okay. I hope this isn’t just for a storyline, but I have seen her pictures lately, and she hardly smiles. Pictures can be interpreted in a thousand different ways so I don’t know, but I’m sure Cynthia will do fine. Take good care of yourself, honey!

    • You may be right, and then hearing about her maybe being pregnant last week. I hope she is well.

      • Well, guys, it’s no that hard to figure out. Synthia is in her 40s, she also mentioned on twitter? that her condition makes her look pregnant (enlarged uterus),also statistically black women have higher incidence of uterine fibroids (fibromas),that causes heavy bleeding.

I wish her well, the condition is treatable. She’ll be fine.

  • The fact that Cynthia is going to incorporate this into her storyline tells me that it’s not life-threatening and she’ll be just fine as long as she looks after her condition/her health.

    • I agree, she has always looked after her health, I’m sure she will be fine. People in the public eye have been coming out more about things. I wish Yoyo would give us an update on her lime disease. There is an excellent new treatment that just came out.

  • Yeah, save it for the upcoming “storyline” so you secure your spot and extend your 15 minutes of reality fame.

I’m in a very cynical mood today.

    • Me too, if you really want to help people, spill it now and then say, follow what happens on the show. Just a ploy for ratings and a storyline. Sorry, but I think it’s true. She is still my favorite Atlanta girl, which speaks volumes on how slim the pickings are!

  • I think its good to see these types of things its real life not contrived storylines. I am one of those people who hates going to the doctor but I didn’t go for years and discovered something major and also needed surgery. Depending on what it is it might encourage people to look into their own family histories and get checked out.

This type of thing is relatable. Hoping everything goes well for her.
